2024 Republican NC Congressional District 6
There are no democratic challengers because redistricting made this district nearly impossible for Democrats to win. Kathy Manning (D) is the incumbent (serving her second term now) and decided not to run for re-election. Whoever wins this primary will be the District 6 representative, unless votes are close enough to warrant a second primary.
- Mark Walker -- Pastor; served District 6 for five years (2015-2021) before redistricting favored Democrats in 2020, and Kathy Manning took office; ran for Senate in 2022, but Ted Budd won the seat; initially entered governor's race this election but dropped out and decided to re-run for his old district when redistricting favored Republicans.
- Bo (Robert) Hines -- Youngest candidate in this group at 28 years old; narrowly lost US House (13) race in another district in 2022; had Trump endorsement in 2022; had legal troubles while a freshman at NC State (citations for speeding and reckless driving)
- Addison McDowell -- Davidson County native; worked for Senator Ted Budd as "constituent liaison;" endorsed by Trump
- Jay Wagner -- current High Point Mayor (served since 2016)
- Christian Castelli -- former combat veteran Green Beret; Republican nominee for this district in 2022 but lost to Kathy Manning in the November 2022 General Election
