GREENSBORO, N.C. — This year, WFMY News 2 turns 75! So, to celebrate, we're opening the WFMY News 2 Vault.
On June 10, 2013, WFMY News 2 got a sneak peek inside what was then the latest construction project at Moses Cone Hospital.
The North Tower was the hospital's 200-million-dollar expansion.
The six-story addition included new emergency rooms, operating rooms, 96 more patient rooms, and solar panels to heat water.
Overall, it added 260,000 square feet to the existing hospital.
The tower opened to the public a few days later, on June 16.
