Former Greensboro city manager becomes interim manager for the Town of Zebulon

Taiwo Jaiyeoba is now an interim city manager for the town of Zebulon amid the controversy in the city of Greensboro.

ZEBULON, N.C. — The former Greensboro city manager who resigned is now the interim city manager for the Town of Zebulon, according to CBS affiliate WNCN.

Taiwo Jaiyeoba previously served as the city manager in Greensboro from February 2022 before resigning in March 2024 after a personal matter created controversy for weeks.

The City of Greensboro never gave an exact reason for his departure, as it came after Jaiyeoba was in a legal dispute over an incident at this home.

The police responded to his home in December for some sort of dispute involving him and his two daughters. Jaiyeoba was hurt, and his daughters were not. No charges were ever filed.

It's not clear exactly what happened.

There's been a push to release police body camera footage from that night — a judge even signed off on it. The city filed an appeal to block the release.

The process could take months to sort out.
