Firefighters battle house fire on Heather Rd. in Burlington

Firefighters said they evacuated several small pets safely.

BURLINGTON, N.C. — Firefighters responded to a fire in Burlington Wednesday.

The Burlington Fire Department said the fire happened on the 700 block of Heather Road shortly before 1 p.m. 

When firefighters arrived, they found smoke coming from the attic of the home.

The fire was under control within 10 minutes.

No one was injured, according to fire officials.

Burlington Fire said they evacuated several small pets safely.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.

Damage estimates to the home are still being determined.
