HIGH POINT, N.C. — For the second time in three weeks, the High Point Police Department arrested a convicted murderer.
Darius D. Countee, 46, was stopped by police for a window tint violation and fictitious registration on Friday.
Countee began arguing with detectives and dropped a handgun on the floorboard.
Detectives arrested Countee and charged him with carrying a concealed gun, possession of firearm by felon, resisting a police officer, and possession of marijuana.
His first court appearance was Monday. A judge placed him under a firearm hold and did not allow a bond.
The High Point Police Department also arrested Countee on May 31. He faced several charges including carrying a concealed gun and possession of a firearm by felon.
Countee was released from prison in February of 2023. He was serving time for the 1997 murder of a High Point man.
