WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A man and woman were arrested after a fight led to a shooting in Winston-Salem Thursday, according to police.
The Winston-Salem Police Department said around 4:30 p.m., officers were called to a fight where a gun was reportedly discharged at the intersection of 4th and Trade Street.
After an investigation, detectives said a fight broke out, and 41-year-old Demetrius Donte Keitt pulled out a gun before leaving the area. Officers said they recovered the weapon, but it was in the possession of 27-year-old Shanice Aaliyah Chambers after the incident.
No injuries were reported.
Police said Keitt was arrested around 8 p.m. Thursday and charged with:
- Felony: Assault with a Deadly Weapon with the Intent to Kill
- Misdemeanor: Carrying a Concealed Weapon
- Misdemeanor: Discharging a Firearm within the City Limit
He is behind bars without bond.
Winston-Salem police said Chambers was arrested and charged with felony carrying a concealed weapon.
She is behind bars without bond.
