WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — One person is dead after a crash involving multiple cars on University Parkway Thursday evening, Winston-Salem police said.
Just before 6 p.m., officers arrived at the scene where three cars were involved in the crash.
Investigations revealed that all three cars were going south on University Parkway. The car Michael Montgomery, 65, was driving was observed to be driving aggressively by following too closely and speeding.
Montgomery collided with two other cars and then collided with a metal light pole. He died at the scene.
Another driver was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and is expected to be okay. No one else was injured in the crash.
