Deputies respond to call concerning person dead in ditch with lawn mower on top

The Randolph County Sheriff's Office says they responded to a call where someone was found dead in a ditch with a lawn mower on top of them Friday night.

RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — Someone is dead after deputies say he was found in a ditch with a riding lawn mower on top. 

The Randolph County Sheriff's Office ruled the death accidental. 

The Randolph County Sheriff's Office says they got the 911 call around 8:37 p.m. Friday. 

Deputies went out to the call location along Iron Mountain Road in Asheboro. At that location, they saw someone dead in a ditch with a lawn mower on top of him. 

The sheriff's office says a family member was the first to find the person. 

The sheriff's office is releasing no other details at this time.
