GREENSBORO, N.C. — Have whiplash? We've skyrocketed temperature-wise this week going from lows in at 15 and 11 degrees last Saturday and Sunday to the 60s Thursday and Friday morning. Remember, average low temperatures for this time of year are around 30 degrees. We doubled that! Friday we hit the 70s in the afternoon! On top of the warmer weather, we've had our share of showers netting around 0.15" of rain Wednesday and 0.77" of rain on Thursday.
More Rain On The Way
A cold front will inch toward the southeast Friday night into Saturday with low pressure tracking along. Rain chances are set to spike early Saturday afternoon and remain elevated through the evening. Rain showers are expected to be widespread with a thunderstorm or two also possible. Though our risk for severe weather isn't high, it's always a good idea to make sure you have a way to receive severe weather alerts!
Rain will likely be heavy at times especially in thunderstorms, posing a risk for flash flooding across the Triad through the evening as well. We're under a Slight risk of flash flooding in northwestern counties and Marginal in southeastern. Please be careful while driving -- make sure you are look for ponding alongside roads!
Models have mainly settled around the ~1" range for rainfall tallies with Saturday's low pressure system. Though, some areas could receive more. This is one model's estimate of rainfall between now and Sunday evening.

Sunshine Returns Sunday!
Missing the sun? Much-needed drier air will build in as clouds clear from the Piedmont Sunday afternoon with cooler highs in the upper 50s despite the sunshine.
