Where to go in Greensboro, High Point, and Winston-Salem to help Helene victims

There are three locations across Guilford County you can bring items to, according to the city.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — In the wake of Helene, the City of Greensboro announced Monday that GuilfordWorks career centers in Greensboro and High Point are accepting donated items for victims of the storm across western North Carolina.

If you're interested in donating, you can do so at theseGuilfordWorks locations:

  • 301 S Greene Street, Suite 200, Greensboro
  • 2301 W Meadowview Road, Greensboro
  • 607 Idol Street, High Point

Also on Monday, the United Way of Greater High Point announced it is working with the American Red Cross to call on the community for donations.

While cash donations are preferred, United Way of Greater High Point said it is working "with numerous community partners to determine viable logistics for physical donations and will release a statement when these efforts are finalized." 

Several other Greensboro organizations and businesses are also taking up Helene donations. Here's a list:

Forsyth County Sheriff's Office announced they are accepting donations:

Donations will be collected outside of the Forsyth County Public Safety Center on 301 North Church Street in Winston-Salem from Monday, Sept. 30 to Wednesday, Oct. 2 between 12 p.m. and 7 p.m. Needed items include non-perishable foods, bottled water, diapers, formula, baby wipes, hygiene products, first-aid kits, and packaged socks.

WFMY News 2 is also partnering with the American Red Cross to hold a phone bank on Monday to support western North Carolina. 

The phone bank will be during our evening newscasts on Monday, Sept. 30 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
