Could the Triad see snow Monday night? Here's what you should know

A few snow showers are possible across the Piedmont Monday evening

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Behind a strong cold front on Friday, the coldest air of the season has greeted us to kick off December. While Sunday was slightly warmer than Saturday, another shot of very cold air is on the way tonight. Temperatures will likely be even colder with teens introduced in the forecast for the first time since January. Plus, an incoming system could provide an opportunity for a few flurries are possible across the Piedmont late Monday night!

Possibility For Snow Showers

With cold air already in place, all we need is some ample moisture to be able to see some snow showers across our area. An upper-level disturbance will pass through the area, bringing limited moisture that may form into some flurries across the Piedmont late Monday night into early Tuesday morning. The timeline will likely be between 8pm-2am.

KNOW: Snow showers are by no means a guarantee across our area. In fact, many models suggest moisture won't be able to make it to the Piedmont for flurries to be able to form. If a few do pop up, they'll be very scattered in nature and very brief. Still, some may staying up and possibly get some pretty shots/videos! However, most of us won't see anything.

Impacts should be minimal at best, but please be extra careful in the morning for any slick spots while your driving just incase.

Stay Warm!

Highs will struggle in the 40s to kick off the workweek; overnight lows could even enter the teens Wednesday morning. Wind chills will certainly be in the teens by Tuesday morning.

Please make sure you are dressed in layers to stay warm and don't forget about the 4 P's: people, pets, pipes, & plants! Stay warm, friends. We'll keep you posted on the forecast.
