CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Helene has formed as a Hurricane Wednesday and the Charlotte Motor Speedway is opening its campgrounds for evacuees.

Hurricane Helene is expected to bring high winds, heavy rain, and flooding to regions across the Southeast over the next several days. The speedway's campgrounds are conveniently located just minutes from Exit 49 off of I-85 at Bruton Smith Boulevard.

With severe weather in the forecast, accommodations will be available as long as possible.
