Winston-Salem police say a road and ramp will be closed for several hours following a crash

It isn't clear what caused the crash. However, it caused downed power lines and traffic lights.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A Winston-Salem road and a ramp is closed following a crash that caused downed powerlines and traffic lights, according to police

Police said East Clemmonsville Road at South Frontage Road is closed to traffic. A ramp from eastbound I-40 at the Clemmonsville/Thomasville Road exit is also closed. 

Police said drivers will have to use alternate routes.

The impacted areas are expected to be closed for several hours as crews clear the roadway and restore the traffic lights, police said.
