GREENSBORO, N.C. — So I was riding around doing stories Wendesday when I realized what the date was: April Fool's Day. But considering everything right now, its probably not the time for pranks.
Google usually shows pranks from all over the world on this date, but they said they will not participate this year.
So, its probably not the time to think about pranks. Even public pranks should be reconsidered as well.
Think about the Missouri man who went into a Walmart and recorded himself licking items and putting them back on the shelf. The dumbest thing I’ve ever seen. Guess what happened to him? He was arrested for making a terrorist threat in the second degree.
Don’t do that.
But within your family, in the confines of your quarantined home? Maybe. But I keep coming back to the fact that nerves are shot, anxiety is full steam and stress has peaked out. It's probably not a good time to play a joke on someone in the house. You might get booted out to the garage.
So the bottom line is, its just not time for a prank.
But remember, this too shall pass. Soon we will be back in a more stable, controlled and even humorous environment.
Who knows? Maybe April Fool's Day 2021 will be big. But that's just my 2 cents.
