Trump to hold rally in Wilmington

The announcement comes one day after VP Kamala Harris held her rallies in Charlotte and Greensboro.
Wednesday’s rally was Trump’s first outdoor event since someone tried to kill him in July.

WILMINGTON, N.C. — Former President Donald Trump is set to hold a campaign rally next Saturday in Wilmington at 2 p.m., according to a release from his team.

This will be Trump's second visit to North Carolina in the span of a month. He last visited the state last Friday to address the Fraternal Order of Police in Charlotte.

The last time the former president held an official rally in North Carolina was during his Asheboro visit on Aug. 21. This go around, a release said his talking points will include jobs, inflation and the economy.

The announcement of the visit comes just one day after Vice President Kamala Harris' double-feature rallies in both Charlotte and Greensboro yesterday.

Both candidates faced off in a high-stakes debate on Tuesday evening. Hot topics of the night were inflation, abortion rights and border security.

Trump's running mate J.D. Vance will face off against Harris' VP pick Tim Walz in just a few weeks on Oct. 1. CBS News will host the debate.
