HIGH POINT, N.C. — One North Carolina man is heading into the weekend with a pocket full of money!
Mark Douglas from High Point took a risk with a $20 scratch-off ticket and became the first winner of the $100,000 prize in a new lottery game, Instant Millions.
Douglas bought his winning ticket in Jamestown at the Quick Mart on West Main Street.
He took home $71,506 after federal and state taxes.
Instant Millions debuted this month with four $2 million top prizes and eight $100,000 prizes. Three $2 million prizes and seven $100,000 prizes remain to be claimed. For details on how $32.6 million raised by the lottery made a difference for education programs in Guilford County last year, visit www.nclottery.com and click on the “Impact” section.
