The Google Settlement Payment is in your email

It's as expected, $7.70 which won't pay your bills but will buy you a fancy coffee.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — It's payday, sort of!  You may have missed it because the money came in your email. I scrolled past it myself. What you're looking for is something like this:  Google Litigation Prepaid Mastercard.

When you open it up, it tells you that you have a Virtual Prepaid Card and it's worth $7.70 (it’s not going to pay your bills, but it could buy you a coffee!). The email and the virtual card are for real. 2 Wants To Know told you about the Google Settlement in the summer, you had to make your claim at the end of July.

Here it is the end of January and you're getting the money. Virtual cards are the most common way to get paid, but you might see money in your Zelle or PayPal account or even a check mailed to you.

Remember, this is a virtual card so you can use it for online purchases or add it to your virtual wallet if you want to use it at a register. The trick is telling the person at the register you want to pay exactly $7.70  toward the bill separately, tap it and then pay the rest of the bill however you want.

Sometimes, if you just run the card, it will say you don't have enough for the full purchase.

Now, ICYMI, there's a Novant settlement to be claimed. Eligible patients got it in their email as well.

In the email, it explains the settlement deals with Facebook possibly having access to patient's MyChart data like contact information, appointment dates, IP addresses, and menu selections.

You got this email if you were a patient from 2020 to 2022. Right now we don't know how much each claimant could get. You have until May 6, 2024 to be part of the settlement payout.
