PILOT MOUNTAIN, N.C. — The town of Pilot Mountain put its town manager on leave on Thursday, Oct. 24.

Mayor Evan J. Cockerham said town leaders discovered discrepancies in the town finances, leading them to put Town Manager Michael Boaz on administrative leave.

He didn't elaborate on the discrepancies or how long Boaz would be on leave.

The issues were discovered to be within the Rescue and EMS teams.

The mayor said the team will investigate and take any appropriate action once that wraps up.

Assistance Town Manager Holly Utt will be acting as town manager in the interim.
