'A beautiful soul' | Greensboro woman continues to look for missing friend Nadejda Black

40-year-old Nadejda Black was last seen at the Greensboro Coliseum February 17 of last year. Her loved ones are still looking for answers.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Erica Courtney said she and Nadejda Black started out as coworkers at the Greensboro Coliseum but quickly became close friends. That's why it was that much more shocking when her friend, 40-year-old Black went missing in February of last year. Courtney continues to search for answers.

"It wasn't until, I think it was two days later, her phone wasn't ringing anymore and it wouldn't ring and then it started going to voicemail and that's the moment that I said… okay… something's really wrong…," Coworker and close friend of Black, Courtney said.

According to Greensboro police, Black was last seen at the Greensboro Coliseum, where she was an employee, on February 17th of last year. Police say friends last spoke to her the day before.

Courtney said there was no event going on that night.  She also said they both worked in housekeeping and would often work over night, clocking out at around 2 am.

Black has not been seen since that night in February. Courtney goes on to say this is extremely unlike her friend.

She describes Black as a beautiful soul, in and out, "she would give you the shirt off her back and I know everyone says that but she was just that person. When she walked into the room, she made a statement, she was gorgeous, beautiful and she had a soul that you could just tell, she was the kindest, most gentle person you'll ever meet," Courtney said.

She also sends a message to her friend while choking up, "my phone number has not changed, just call me. Please just tell me you're okay. Tell us something, please. We miss you, and I love her… and I miss her."

Black is described by police as a white female 4'9" tall and 105 pounds, she was last seen wearing a blue long sleeve shirt, blue jeans, black sneakers, and a red hat.

Anyone with information on Black's location should call Greensboro/Guilford Crime Stoppers at 336-373-1000.
