MEBANE, N.C. — Mebane City Council is holding a meeting tonight where they are expected to vote on a mixed-use development plan that includes more stores, apartments, and residential spaces near the new Buc-ee’s.
The city’s planning board previously denied another proposal from developers.
The new development plan includes about 83 acres that will be dedicated to several retail stores, a dining plaza, townhomes, apartment buildings, and outdoor spaces.
Developers believe the new space will create “a walkable, interconnected pattern of streets and pedestrian connectivity to retail and residential uses,” according to their proposal.
Tonight’s city council meeting begins at 6 p.m., according to the city’s website.
