Brandon Cameron was hit by a drunk driver in 2023. It cost him his lower leg.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Brandon Cameron, a Greensboro man who lost part of his leg after being hit by a drunk driver, was honored at the Hoppers game on Sunday, July 28.

Before the game started, he got the chance to throw out the first pitch.

Cameron said his doctors nominated him unknowingly because of his positive attitude.

He found out he would have to lose part of his leg seven months after surviving the horrific crash in August 2023.

After 50 days at Cone Health recovering, he thought he could put the tragedy behind him... But that didn't happen.

Cameron found out he would have to lose part of his leg seven months after surviving a horrific crash.

Cameron stayed positive through it all -- and you can see he looked great at the Hoppers game on Sunday.

"It hit me like, man. But then I realized I'm still here," Cameron said. "I'm still alive that's the most important thing."

It's that mindset that pulled Cameron through his long road to recovery.
