WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The Winston-Salem fire department responded to a house fire early Sunday morning.

The fire happened on Somerset Drive and crews arrived at the scene around 3:11 a.m.

The family was home when the fire happened but there were no injuries, according to the fire crews. They told WFMY News 2 that the fire damage was very minimal and did not reach inside the house.

The family said the fire only damaged part of the door on the side of house. Due to Saturday's rain, it helped mitigate the spread of the fire.

The cause of the fire remains unknown.
