GREENSBORO, N.C. — A Greensboro officer who was murdered received worldwide recognition for his work of protecting the most vulnerable.
The International Family Justice Center gave Sergeant Dale Nix its Lifetime Achievement Award.
Sgt. Nix was shot and killed during a robbery at a Sheetz gas station in Colfax, NC.
A lot of his work was within the Guilford County Family Justice Center.
Colleagues called him one of the most passionate people they have ever worked with.
They said he made it his mission to protect people stuck in vulnerable positions.
