RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — Randolph County deputies say a man stole a car from a person who was picking up a child from Craven Elementary School today.
Deputies say the victim left the car running before going inside the school, but the key fob was not in the car. When the victim left the building, the car was gone.
Surveillance cameras captured a burgundy Saturn behind the victim's 2017 Nissan Altima around 2:30 p.m. A male passenger got out of the Saturn, got into the Nissan Altima, and took off.
Deputies are asking people to keep an eye out for both vehicles. The Nissan Altima has a Peters Automall plate on the front, paint peeling from the hood, and is green in color. It has license plate number FMA-4393.
