GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro Police are investigating several armed robberies over the past few days with two happening within 20 minutes of each other.
Police say on Monday there was a robbery at around 1:45 in the afternoon at a Family Dollar on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. About 20 minutes later, at 2:05, a reported armed robbery at an Auto Zone on Guilford College Road.
In both cases the suspect is described as a young male about 20 years old and wearing a white hoodie with a bandanna around his face.
The bandannas are described as two different colors, according to Greensboro Police.
How you can help police if you witness a robbery
In this case they didn't have video evidence from one of the places so they couldn't 100-percent confirm it was the same person. That's why your descriptions can be so important.
"Distinctive things about the individual is best. Facial description, hair, wearing glasses, braces, specific tattoos on the face, neck, arms, hands," said Sgt. Williamson with the Greensboro Police Department.
"Don't get involved. Don't try to get in between the robber and the clerk. Most of the time, they're there to rob the store, not the individual," said Sgt. Williamson.
