NORTH CAROLINA, USA — Due to low temperatures and inclement weather, many schools have decided to either close or delay school for Tuesday, Jan. 16. 

Some districts have posted to social media with specific instructions about exams and testing.

Alleghany County Schools

• Closed — Tues., Jan. 16

Mount Airy City Schools

• Closed -- Tues., Jan. 16 (optional teacher workday) 

Patrick County Schools

• Closed — Tues., Jan. 16

Surry County Schools

• Closed — Tues., Jan. 16

Wilkes County Schools 

• Closed -- Tues., Jan. 16

DELAYED 2-HOURS

Elkin City Schools

• 2-hour delay — Tues., Jan. 16

We will assess road conditions in the morning and notify you of any further schedule changes by 7 a.m.

Stokes County Schools

• 2-hour delay — Tues., Jan. 16

Please contact your student's school regarding exams.
