RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — A Randleman man was arrested for first-degree murder in connection to a missing Winston-Salem man's remains found months later, according to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies charged Jaekob Shane Hill, 29, with the first-degree murder of Thomas 'TK' Burton as well as felony conceal/failure to report a death.
Burton was reported missing on July 29.
After being missing for two months, Burton was later identified after human remains were found at the home of 31-year-old Beau Benjamin Martin on Sept. 16, according to court documents.
Randolph County deputies went to Martin's home on Rob Cruthis Road in Archdale for assistance in an investigation into a missing person. They said they found remains at the property, but they weren't identified at the time.
Martin was taken into custody and was charged with felony failure to report/conceal death after the remains were found. He was given a $15,000 bond.
Martin's arrest eventually led investigators to identify the remains as those belonging to TK Burton.
