GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — The 19-year-old accused of shooting and killing Greensboro Police Sergeant Dale Nix faces new charges for allegedly assaulting someone in jail on Monday, July 15.
Court documents state that Jamere Foster beat someone in jail with a tube sock full of batteries.
Foster is also accused of conspiring with Jakeem Bennett before the beating took place.
At the time of reporting, it is unclear if the victim is an inmate or an employee of the jail.
You may remember, Foster was arrested at the beginning of the year for allegedly shooting and killing Sgt. Nix.
Foster was charged with First Degree Murder, Larceny, and Conspiracy to Commit Larceny and was held with no bond.
Now, Foster faces additional charges of Misdemeanor Assault Inflicting Serious Injury, Misdemeanor Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Misdemeanor Conspiracy.
