WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — One person is dead, and two others were injured following a shooting in Winston-Salem Saturday afternoon.
Officers said it happened around 2:17 p.m. along Devonshire Street.
According to police, officers were responding to a shooting call when they found one person inside a vacant building shot several times.
Police said first responders tried to save the man's life, but he ultimately died. Police identified the man as Devonte Hayes.
Police said two other people were also injured but are expected to be okay.
The Criminal Investigations Division is taking over the investigation.
