GREENSBORO, N.C. — People who work near 'Secrets Cabaret' in Greensboro were suspicious of the nightclub, but shocked to learn what was going on behind closed doors.
Immanuel Baptist Church is across the street from the club —it can always tell when the club is busy as they arrive at church the next morning to a littered parking lot.
"The church meets on Sunday morning. So, they'll find it and they'll see it before I do. I see it on Monday when I come after the weekend, but I'm here every day Monday-Thursday. So usually, I see that every day when I come in at nine. There's trash and broken glass in the parking lot. So, that's sad because people park there," explained administrative assistant, Vickie Morse.
State Alcohol Law Enforcement agents searched the bar, Friday night. They found money, drugs, alcohol, and guns inside, one of which was stolen. ALE charged seven people. ALE has warrants issued for four more people too.
Some of those charges include alcohol possession without an ABC permit, conspiracy to sell and deliver cocaine, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
A representative for a nearby Family Fare gas station said it's struggling to stay open 24/7 due to the behavior of people coming from the club and onto their property.
"I would just say that we need more police presence in the area, and the owners of that club, I don't really know them. If they have that much trouble in those many incidents that are going on, regularly, they need to be held accountable. We don't want anybody to get hurt," said Family Fare representative, Jeff Mercer.
WFMY News 2 called the number listed for the club. The person on the other end of the phone said they had no comment.
ALE said the club can re-open, however they must get the proper ABC permit before alcohol can be sold.
According to a county website, the building 'Secrets Cabaret' is in is owned by 'Jemm LLC.'
'Jemm LLC' has the same address as a Greensboro law firm. WFMY News 2 reached out to the law firm and we're waiting to hear back.
