Man shot in leg, Winston-Salem police investigate

Winston-Salem police say the man was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — One person was taken to the hospital suffering from a gunshot wound following a Winston-Salem shooting. 

Winston-Salem police say they were near N. MLK Jr. Dr. around 8:00 p.m. Saturday when they heard shots fired. 

Sometime after, officers found a man shot in the leg. 

Officers say an ambulance took the man to the hospital and he is expected to be okay. 

Officers say they talked to people who saw the accident and determined it was an isolated incident. 

As of right now, police say they do not have a suspect in custody.
