New details shed light on hit-and-run that killed an NC A&T student

Greensboro police said a suspect driving a stolen vehicle ran a red light before crashing into a vehicle, killing 21-year-old Xiomara Moore.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Greensboro Police Department is searching for the person responsible for a deadly hit-and-run crash that happened on April 13 at North Elm Street and East Friendly Avenue.

Investigators said 21-year-old Xiomara Moore, of Gastonia, was driving a Hyundai Sonata west on Friendly Avenue through a green light at the intersection of North Elm Street. A stolen Jeep Cherokee was traveling at an excessive speed north on North Elm Street, failed to stop for a red light, and hit the Hyundai.

The driver of the Jeep Cherokee left the scene, leaving the vehicle behind. Police are searching for the driver of that vehicle.
