Deputies said evidence indicates that Greg Gobble shot Cynthia Gobble, and then shot himself.

Investigators found the bodies of the missing Davie County husband and wife on Friday.

Deputies said Cynthia and Greg Gobble were found dead in a wooded area just inside of Iredell County off Sheffield Road.

This comes after an Ashanti Alert was issued Thursday for Cynthia. Her husband Greg was identified as a "person of interest" in her disappearance. The NC Center for Missing Persons says an Ashanti Alert is issued when there is "evidence of physical endangerment, abduction, or kidnapping."

The couple is married but separated. Family members said their last known location was at Cynthia's home in Mocksville.

Deputies were called to do a welfare check on Cynthia and they were able to determine that she was not at the home.

Detectives found Cynthia's purse, wallet, and insulin left behind. Their phones had also been turned off and Cynthia's social media had gone cold. No one could reach them.

Both officers and family members also checked other locations that either of the Gobbles might be at and made electronic attempts to find them.

Officers were also unable to locate Greg Gobble’s white Ford Truck and were able to determine that he was driving the truck earlier that day.

Detectives said they received a a search warrant for the Mocksville home on Country Lane Thursday.

This all led to the Ashanti alert being issued out.

Deputies said the Iredell County Sheriff's Office informed them that two bodies had been found Friday.

Investigators were able to identify the bodies as those of Cynthia and Greg Gobble.

Deputies said Cynthia and Greg Gobble died from gunshot wounds, and that evidence showed Greg shot Cynthia, and then himself.

The weapon and Ford Truck were found at the scene.

Davie County Sheriff units continued to process the scene on Country Lane and the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office assisted by processing the scene where the Gobbles remains were found.

Investigators said there are no additional persons being sought in this case and there is no continuing danger to the public.
