GREENSBORO, N.C. — An autopsy report revealed new details in a gruesome murder in Greensboro.
According to the medical examiner, 38-year-old Lauren Fullerton stabbed 59-year-old Todd Arnold 11 times. Additionally, the exam found 29 other cuts and five areas of blunt force trauma on the victim.
The deadly stabbing happened in May at Arnold's home on Venus Drive in Greensboro.
Investigators said Fullerton also stabbed the man's cat to death. She's charged with first-degree murder and cruelty to animals.
Investigators said Fullerton called 911 four times and when deputies arrived, she admitted to killing him a couple of days before over a disagreement. Prosecutors said she told deputies at the scene about drug use as well.
Investigators haven't said the relationship between the suspect and victim or why she was at his home in the first place.
Fullerton is in jail with no bond allowed. If convicted, she could face life in prison. Prosecutors said she has a history of drug use and they recommended a mental health evaluation.
