LEXINGTON, N.C. — A person was charged with animal cruelty in Lexington after officers found a dead dog in a yard Thursday.
Lexington police said they were called to Austin Street about an animal call. When officers arrived, animal control found a dead dog and another dog tied to a pole. Neither had food, water, or shelter.
Detectives said they charged 36-year-old Ronald Duron McBride with felony animal cruelty and killing an animal by starvation.
The other dog was seized by the Lexington Police Department and placed at the Davidson County Animal Shelter.
Ronald McBride was released under a $5,000.00 unsecured bond, according to Lexington police.
