BURLINGTON, N.C. — Flexaust, a manufacturer of ducting and hoses for industrial appliances, will establish a new distribution site in Burlington, according to a release from the City of Burlington.
The new plant will bring 47 jobs to Burlington over the next five years, with an average salary of $48,723.
Flexaust will renovate the vacant textile mill located at 1902 Tucker Street, investing $500,000 in building improvements and $3.7 million in new machinery and equipment.
The project was made possible thanks to a Building Reuse Grant awarded to the City in the amount of $240,000 from the NC Department of Commerce. The program provides grants to local governments to renovate vacant buildings that will lead to the creation of new jobs in rural areas throughout the state. Funding will be granted to the company as a reimbursement, upon the completion of rehabilitation work and meeting job creation goals.
Renovations are expected to begin immediately, with recruitment for jobs to follow. The company plans to being operations at the Burlington location in early 2020.
