7-year-old recalls the moments from a bus crash in Alamance County

An Alamance-Burlington school bus ran off the road and into a building Thursday morning. Students who were on the bus explained what happened.

GRAHAM, N.C. — Seven-year-old Alamance-Burlington school student, Lesley Prado shares what it was like for her and her sister when their school bus went off the road and into a building.

"There was like one kid bleeding from his head; a boy bleeding from his mouth and a girl she couldn't talk, or she couldn't walk," Lesley Prado explained.

Little did they know, their dad Berny Prado was two cars behind the school bus watching the entire accident unfold.

Berny Prado's friend, Gerardo Maro was driving along NC Highway 87 when he captured the bus on his dash cam moments after the crash happened.

"At the moment, you're not thinking of what's going on you're just trying to make sure your kids are safe," said Berny Prado.

Berny Prado said he helped pull kids from the bus after the crash.

While the first thing on everyone's minds was getting the kids to safety, Lesley Prado's concern was for her bus driver, Ronald Farrow.

"I was going to help Mr. Ron, but he was too heavy he said to tell me to go to the ground," Lesley Prado said.

The Prado family is thankful they were able to walk away yet hesitant to ride the bus again.
