ASHEBORO, N.C. — North Carolina saw freezing temperatures overnight on Monday, Dec. 2, with some places lucky enough to see snowfall.
The North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro was one of those lucky places, with snow coating the entrance sign, elephant statues, and animal habitats. The resident animals took full advantage of the snowy fun.
Artic foxes curled up and relaxed in the chilly weather. Cougars with snow on their backs prowled around their winter wonderland. Even the cardinals got in on the fun.
