CHEROKEE, N.C. — Part of the Blue Ridge Parkway is closed for expected winter weather, the park shared Thursday.

The northern most Virginia section of the Parkway, along with Boone/Blowing Rock areas, Asheville and the southernmost sections in North Carolina are experiencing winter weather closures.

The park is warning people to plan ahead and visit the road status and closures page on its website to view current/closures.
