Flooding in Asheville 9/26

ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Hurricane Helene will dump historic amounts of rain on western North Carolina come early Friday morning - but the impacts from the storm's outer bands are already being felt well beforehand.

Just take a look at these images and videos of wild weather in the western part of our state.

The video posted to X shows the Biltmore Village in Asheville. It looks like a rushing river where roads are supposed to be.

If you're wondering where all that water came from, just take a look at this post. The water is rushing from the Swananoa River.

Our very own Amber Lake is in Asheville getting a first-hand look at all this flooding. The images are unbelievable.

Here's a video of a flooded road in Asheville.

We’ve made it to Asheville. This is at Carrier Park on Amboy Road. Someone who lives close by says he’s never seen anything like this before. WFMY News 2

In this photo posted by the Blue Ridge Parkway, you can see a picnic table just peeking through the rushing floodwaters in the Linville Falls area. The parkway is closed during the storm.
