Yadkin Co. Tornado EF-2
The National Weather Service confirmed it was an EF-2 Tornado that hit Yadkin County with winds up to 125 mph. The weather service also said the tornado lasted six minutes from 4:17 p.m. to 4:23 p.m. and injured one person. The tornado damaged Courtney Elementary School Gymnasium as well as homes in Yadkin County.

Davie Co. Tornado EF-2

The National Weather Service said an EF-2 tornado struck the Davie County area as it traveled into Yadkin County. The tornado traveled for six miles.

Stokes Co. Tornado EF-2
The National Weather Service has confirmed the same system spawned a second EF-2 tornado that touched down in Stokes County with wind speeds up to 125 mph. The tornado struck northeast of East Bend. The tornado was on the ground for 15.3 miles as it traveled to an end near Lynchburg Road.

Iredell Co. Tornado
The National Weather Service said on Wednesday a tornado hit in Iredell County however they have not said how strong it was. They’re continuing to survey the damage.

Union Co. Tornado EF-1
The National Weather Service also confirmed an EF-1 tornado with wind speeds up to 100 mph struck in Union County. The tornado tracked for more than seven miles. Most of the damage was caused to trees. The tornado hit a barn as well.

Surveying Damage

The National Weather Service is still surveying damage in Iredell County.

Davie, Stokes, and Yadkin counties have declared a state of emergency due to the storms. The Governor’s Office said once they survey all the damage they’ll be able to determine what, if any state or federal aid could be available to help communities recover from the tornadoes.
