What's the latest forecast?
We've seen plenty of rain this Sunday. Rounds of rain will continue through the overnight hours. The rain will be heavy at times adding to the 1 - 2" that has already fallen. After the cold front moves through, temperatures will drop dramatically. We'll drop from the 60s to 30s to start off Monday morning. It's possible that some snowflakes could mix with rain at the end of the system, mainly between 11pm and 3am. Impacts aren't expected.
What's the Severe Storm Risk?
Our risk of severe storm has diminished. Most of us will simply continue to have rounds of light to moderate rain.
Cold, Gusty Winds
Wind gusts will pick up after the cold front moves through tonight. Expect gusty winds around 20-30 mph into the overnight hours as well. This may be enough for a few spotty power outages, but widespread problems aren't expected due to winds.
Could We See Snow?
With temperatures dropping fast and precipitation sticking around, it's possible some of our final rain could switchover to snow briefly. The time for this to happen would be after 11pm, through as late as 3 or 4am.
It's not likely that we'd see accumulation if this did happen, but a little white coating may be possible on elevated surfaces. Nonetheless, it could be a pretty sight if you're still awake!
Overnight lows will be in the mid 30s. It's close, but icy roads or bridges aren't expected.
How much rain?
Heavy rain has been with us much of the day. As of 7pm many of us have seen between 1-2 inches of rain. An additional half inch or more is possible through early tomorrow. Rain totals will be near 2 inches for most of our area.
This is beneficial rainfall for our drought status. We'll get an update on how much it helped later this week.
