WFMY News 2 keeps you up to date on the latest road and weather conditions.

GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — NCDOT spent Friday preparing and treating the roads for the third weekend of winter weather.

WFMY News 2 is working around the clock to keep you up to date with the latest road and weather conditions in the Triad.

City crews are out treating the roads and salting the areas they can. The head of the Greensboro snow program, Nathaneal Moore said crews were activated at 5 p.m. on Friday to start plowing and salting the roadways.

"When we activate our snow program, we activate our full staff, so we have an A shift and a B shift. They work 12-hour shifts. So, roughly in the whole program, it's a little over 100 personnel, 50 per shift," Moore explained.

The city of high point also has 14 trucks ready to salt and plow the roads when needed.
