EF-1 tornado confirmed by National Weather Service in Wilkes County last week during severe storms

The tornado damaged a house and barn with several trees snapped.

WILKES COUNTY, N.C. — The National Weather Service in Blacksburg, Virginia has confirmed an EF-1 tornado with 90 mph winds touched down in Wilkes County last Thursday, Sept. 26.

The tornado touched down briefly south of the Greenhorn Road and Burcham Road intersection.

There were no injuries, but a house and barn were reported to be damaged and several trees were snapped.

FYI:@NWSBlacksburg has confirmed a brief tornado touched down in Wilkes Co last Thursday, around 12:03 PM.

It was an EF-1 with 90 mph winds. It touched down just south of Greenhorn Rd/Burcham.
