Earthquake hits North Carolina and Virginia border

People felt the earthquake as near as Winston-Salem.

NORTH CAROLINA, USA — An earthquake hit along the North Carolina border Thursday.

The earthquake was 2.6 magnitude that hit the border of North Carolina and Virginia in Fancy Gap, Virginia shortly before 6 a.m.

People in Sherrills Ford and Winston-Salem reported they felt the earthquake.

Fortunately, no damages were reported.
