NORTH CAROLINA, USA — Duke Energy is preparing to head to Florida amid Hurricane Milton's arrival.
Milton's intensity is expected to be unlike anything the Tampa Bay area has ever experienced, and Duke Energy says it is putting an army of resources in place.
The company says it is convening 16,000 power line technicians, vegetation workers, damage assessors, support personnel, and the necessary equipment at several locations out of the hurricane's projected path but as close as possible to the areas most likely to be impacted.
Duke Energy says crews are coming from as far as Colorado, California, and Canada and will be prepared to start safe power restoration as soon as weather and other conditions allow.
