Asheville Humane Society safely transfers animals to Forsyth Humane Society in Helene aftermath

ASHEVILLE, N.C. — The Asheville Humane Society safely transferred their animals to Forsyth Humane Society in wake of Helene.

Asheville Humane Society said it has been difficult to provide for the animals without running water and other necessities. Fortunately, they were able to give their animals a safer home with more resources- Forsyth Humane Society.

According to the Asheville Humane Society, the Bissell Pet Foundation flew in over 1,000 pounds of supplies for their staff and animals and then flew 40 dogs, 57 cats, and other animals to the Forsyth Humane Society.

"It is hard to find silver linings amidst so much loss. But today, we are reminded that we live in a community of resilience, selflessness, and genuine kindness," said the Asheville Humane Society in a social media post.
