GREENSBORO, N.C. — Storms aren't a guarantee on tonight, but the WFMY News 2 Weather Team says we should be ready and have a plan in place before you go to bed just in case.
As a storm system heads our way and a warm front lifts North over our area tonight a couple storms are possible. They could be strong or severe but the better chance for severe weather now looks to be to the South and East.
TIMELINE:
- Midnight to Friday morning: Pockets of rain. A couple storms could form but they're not guaranteed. Severe weather threat very low.
- Friday Midday: Clearing out. Sun returns in the afternoon, it'll be breezy.
THREATS
- Damaging winds would be the biggest concern in any storms that form.
- Hail is possible in some t-storms.
- An isolated tornado across the southern NC Piedmont into the Sandhills can't be ruled out.
- Some localized flooding would be possible under strong storms.
Please keep it with the WFMY News 2 Weather Team on-air and online. We'll be doing lots of coverage on Facebook, including live videos with our meteorologists to keep you updated.
