BURLINGTON, N.C. -- Alamance County was hit hard by flooding after storms moved across the Triad Wednesday evening.
The Burlington Police Department responded to 34 flooded road calls. The roads were so bad Burlington Police tweeted for residents to stay off the roads.
They also said five homes were flooded.
Not only did the storm dump heavy rain but also uprooted trees. Police said there were reports of six trees down across the area.
WFMY News 2 spoke with two residents of a Burlington neighborhood who said their road buckled, and there was no way for residents to get to a main road.

This was on Tangle Ridge Trail. Alamance 911 Communications said firefighters and sheriff's deputies were on scene Wednesday night and had the road taped off.
Parts of Guilford County also flooded as a result of the heavy rain.
