GREENSBORO, N.C. — The rain has put a damper on lots of plans across the Triad.
Yet while some businesses are having to close completely, others are benefiting from the downpour.
At the Miriam P. Brenner Children's Museum in Greensboro, families are turning this soggy day into something fun.
On Friday, the museum typically sees around 200 people. However, this Friday, they've seen nearly 500 come through their doors.
Not only is the BAD weather, bringing in a lot more families. It's also spring break for a lot of schools which is a time the museum sees an influx of kids.
"The museum is excited to welcome everyone in today and show off the updates they've made around the building, including a new construction exhibit and a new roof. An important upgrade on this rainy day," Joe Rieke, Director of Advancement and Community shared.
The Director of Advancement and Community says while the weather is gloomy, it's all smiles inside.
"When I woke up this morning and saw the forecast of what was happening, I knew that it was going to be a big day here at the museum, so we've got a great staff here checked in with all of them. They are here to support everybody as we move through this. We are open all the way until 8 o'clock. So, we are here to get out of the weather all the way until 8 o'clock tonight," Rieke continued.
While some businesses are booming, others are not. Arrowhead Coffee Company was supposed to be set up at Joymongers Friday. Instead, the truck is covered up, and out of use.
"It's very hard to work around the rain," the Arrowhead Coffee Company owner, Branson Linnens said. "It changes so much, so we just do what we can, when we can."
The wet weather is also impacting some Easter Sunday services. West Market Church in Greensboro is moving its service indoors. Meantime in Winston-Salem, the 251st sunrise service at the Moravian Church at Salem Square will go on as scheduled.
